The YAF is comprised of young adults from the ages of 23 to 35, from all walks of life and at different phases of life. Yet, we share a common identity, as disciples and servants of the True and Living God. We gather regularly on Saturdays to study God’s Word, discuss and share Young Adult issues such as God's purpose for our work, relationships and service, and fellowship with like-minded brethren in Christ over meals, Bible-studies, sports and various activities.

Theme Song: Servant’s Heart

Theme for 2015-2016: Servants of God

A passage that inspired the choosing of our theme was Deuteronomy 10:12-14, “And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.”   It summarises God’s will and right that every believer should serve Him and obey His Word.

Hence, this electoral year, YAF will be focusing on how we may serve the Lord in our different spheres of life (e.g. at home, work and in church), how we may serve God with biblical actions and motives, as well as how we may avoid pitfalls in service.

Bible Study A follow-up study from our previous coverage of the Inquirers’ Bible Course material, Growing in the Faith outlines how we may help new believers on their transition from milk to meat by examining the means of grace, how one may be assured of his/her salvation and how to evangelise for Christ.

This electoral year, we will be having a series of short Bible Studies with each YAFer having 3 choices of Bible Study topic each time. For the first phase, one group will cover the aforementioned ‘Growing in the Faith’ material, while another group will study 2 Timothy and a third group will look at the life of Moses. This promotes a greater sense of ownership of the study of the Word, while the shorter course helps in following the structure of the Bible Study.

Messages like "Sanctified to Serve", "Serving God at Home" and "Pitfalls of Service" have also been planned in line with our theme.

These focused messages are meant to help us explore the different facets and challenges of being servants of God.

Home Gatherings

Occasionally, we will meet in our cell-groups at the cosy homes of YAFers. There, we will explore topics not directly linked to our theme, focusing on having a biblical view of the world around us. Of course, we will also take the opportunity to build our Christian friendships through sharing, discussion, sports and games.

Vision & Mission

To build a united church family that is committed to making disciples through Salvation, Sanctification and Service, to the glory of God.

Verse for the Week

May 21 & 28 - Looking for the Saviour

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20
