Who we are

The YAF comprises of young adults aged 23 to 35, from all walks of life. While many of us face many different challenges as we encounter jobs, marriage and children for the first time, we share a common identity as disciples and servants of the True and Living God. Armed with this hope, we seek to build up each other “Unto Faith and Good Works”, as spelt out by our motto. We gather regularly on Saturdays for Bible study and discussion to learn more about God, God’s purpose for us, and Christian living. We also fellowship with like-minded brethren in Christ over meals, outings, the annual retreat, sports and various activities.

Bible Study

Listening to feedback given by members, there is a growing desire by YAFers to have more in-depth studies of God’s word. As such, the exco has decided to continue the new bible study rotations began in 2015, where the 3 Care Groups (CGs) will have a different topic of study and all young adults can choose the group most relevant to them. Currently the 3 topics that are being covered are 1) A book study of Romans (part 2), 2) A book study of Ecclesiastes, 3) A book study on 1st and 2nd Samuel. This promotes a greater sense of

ownership of the study of the Word, while the shorter course helps in following the structure of the Bible Study. Each young adult is also given a chance to learn to lead a Bible Study session with guidance from the CG leaders. The group presentation after each round of bible study allows groups the chance to summarize and consolidate the lessons learnt and present the learning points for the edification of all members. Come join us on the upcoming presentation on 5th September to find out more about our Bible Studies.

Talking Points

While the truths from Word of God is clear, it is usually more challenging to apply them to real-world contexts where things may seem less clear. To help YAFers facing these challenges in life, we hold talking points where young adults are free to air their concerns and questions, and hear the views from older adults as we explore complex issues from multiple angles. This year, we have had discussions on whether “The Strawberry Generation” was a fair description for us, as well as relating to other Christians.

Fellowship Opportunities

Fellowship in the YAF continues after the Bible Study discussions. Whether over refreshments, meals or planned CG outings, we try to make the most of our time together to explore conversation topics focusing on having a biblical view of the world around us, in the face of the challenges we face. To further provide young adults a special time to fellowship with each other around the Word of God away from the distractions of the world, the YAF holds its retreat annually. Do look out for announcements in the weekly bulletin.

So, to all young adults, if this article has piqued your interest and you are keen to build good Christian friendships, we warmly welcome you to join us for a blessed time together! You can find me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Verse for the Week

September 17 & 24 - Living for Christ

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
