Colossians 1:10 says To walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, and Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

These verses are constant reminders to us to be diligent in studying His Word and to have a close relationship with God so that we will not sin against Him. These instructions are not for the adults only but are applicable to the little ones as well. Starting them young in the habit of attending Sunday School and the studying of God’s Word will be helpful to them in their growing up years.

From our record we notice there is an increase of 18% in the number of young children in our church this year (2017) as compared to the previous year. We praise and thank The Lord for all of them and what better way to express our thankfulness than by guiding them with God’s Word.

Life B-P Church Primary Department Sunday school, a ministry committed to the teaching and learning of God’s Word have classes that cater to children from as young as age 18 months up to 8 years old. We would like to encourage all parents with young children between this age group to send them to the Primary Department Sunday school to be taught and be grounded with the Word of God. Our greatest joy as Sunday school teachers is being able to watch these young ones grow up physically and spiritually in the knowledge of God and one day watching them publicly acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

We praise and thank God for the Christmas Thanksgiving last year, an event whereby the children from Primary and Junior Departments came together to present a puppet show entitled “Christmas without Snow”. Thank God for positive feedback from many parents and friends. Another event that encouraged and motivated many children to faithfully attend Sunday school lessons each week was the Annual Sunday School Prize Giving Day.

Proverbs 22:6 remind us, "train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it." May this be an encouragement for us to ‘Occupy till Christ returns’, the theme of our church for 2017.

We look forward to seeing your children each Sunday at 9.40 am @ Life Meeting Hall!

Report on Pre-Nursery Class

by sister Rhoda Lim:

The Pre-Nursery Class is meant for the little ones aged 18 months - 3 years old. Every Sunday, we meet in FEK Room 1 with the Green doors. The Sunday School lesson is divided into four parts:

• 9.40 - 9.50am : Playtime on the mat. When playtime is up, the children must help to keep the toys too.

• 9.50 - 10.05am : Singspiration. Occasionally, the children may request to sing some of their favourite praises.

• 10.05 - 10.20am : Bible story time.

• 10.20 - 10.30am : Worksheet time. Children are given a worksheet to help reinforce the Bible story they have just heard.

• 10.30am : Dismissal.

Our key goal is to teach the children to love and fear God from a young age. Through songs and bible stories, they learn the name of Jesus and the awareness to obey God. In practical acts of obedience to Jesus, they are taught and reminded to obey their parents, be good little helpers at home and be kind to their friends.

We also strive to nurture the fear of God in these little ones by inculcating the sanctity of worship in our classroom. No food and drinks are allowed once the singspiration starts; children are taught to sit up straight and pay attention during bible-story time; and during their favourite offering time, children are reminded to put coins cheerfully and nicely into a red collection bucket as an act of respectful giving unto the Lord
