Great Is God’s Faithfulness
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:23,24

• Today we give thanks to God for His faithfulness in keeping Life B-P Church for the last 76 years.
• How does God’s faithfulness help us?

1.    It Engages His Covenant Promises
V.24a – “Faithful is He …”

1. The Lord has faithfully kept all His promises to Israel.
   Joshua 21:45, 1 Kings 8:56
2. The Lord has faithfully kept all His promises to the Church.
   Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 5:27

2.    It Ensures Our Comprehensive Preservation
V.23b – “I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1. Every aspect of our being has been included in His purpose.
2. Our calling assures us that God’s faithfulness applies to us (v.24).
   Romans 8:30, Revelation 19:9
3. We can look forward eagerly to our glorious end.
   Titus 2:13

3.  It Encourages Our Constant Perseverance
V.23 – “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly…”

• In the last two chapters, Paul had given the Thessalonians plenty of instructions and exhortations.
• How would they be able to keep doing them?
• Paul’s prayer assured them that God Himself will see to it because He is faithful.

Application:

• Let us fulfil this year’s Church theme: ‘Reflecting Christ, Redeeming the Time’
• Let us be committed to do our part, encouraged by God’s faithfulness.
V.24 – “Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.”
