Text: Nehemiah 5:1-19

Preceding Events

The Jews are released from captivity in Persia.

They return to Judah and rebuild the temple (Ezra)

Nehemiah receives the call to return to Judah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and seeks God in prayer - Praise; Repent; Appeal; Yield

Nehemiah Initiates Prayerfully; Investigates Carefully; and Invigorates Hopefully to get the work of building started.

The people respond positively and start building the wall with total involvement, zeal and enthusiasm, not forgetting to honour God.

Opposition from the other inhabitants of the land is met with preparation, courage and trust in the Lord

Problems aplenty, People unhappy
